Out of the Rain Youth Shelter

This service provides emergency shelter for youth aged 15 to 25 who would otherwise go unsheltered during the coldest months of the year (usually October to April). The shelter rotates through a set of locations in order to be accessible to as many street-involved young folks as possible. Two youth workers watch over the shelter and make sure that each night's inhabitants feel safe, fed, and supported. They can connect youth to community programs that provide permanent housing, substance use and mental health treatment options, etc...
Kiwanis Emergency Youth Shelter

This service provides temporary housing for youth aged 13 to 18 who would otherwise remain in unsafe situations or be unsheltered. Staff provide inhabitants with a safe bed, warm meal, and a shoulder to cry on. The shelter’s youth care workers involve parents, guardians, social workers, and crisis teams together in order to make sure youth will no longer be unhoused or precariously housed.
Umbrella Society for Addictions and Mental Health

This service supports individuals of all ages struggling with addiction to alcohol, other drugs, and behaviours. The organization provides peer support and counselling and connects folks to detox, stabilization, treatment, and housing services. Umbrella also operates four recovery houses: three for men and one for women.
Victoria Youth Clinic (The Foundry)

This clinic provides youth ages 12-24 with mental and sexual health supports including professional counselling, peer support, substance use treatment, gender affirming care, and harm reduction education. Staff can also help youth file taxes, seek income assistance, find housing, and navigate other community supports.
